(References are available upon request. Contact us by email or phone.) Dear Mr. Furrer, I want to thank you for your time, knowledge, and respect that you shared with the Juniors of Penn Laurel Council (Girl Scouts). You not only shared a respect of the critters you brought, but of the girls themselves. You showed them trust and respect by giving them your animals to look after and share with their friends and they lived up to your expectations. For me, it was not only a learning experience about animals, but also about the nature of children experiencing them. Thank you for the knowledge and life-building experience that you shared with all of us that day. Sincerely, K.S. Co-Leader J802 ******************************************************************************************************************************** Mr. Furrer has been an instrumental link in our curriculum with the classification of animals. He is very knowledgeable about his animals, gives students hands-on learning, and makes learning fun. This is evident because kids and parents won't leave his side when he is done presenting. Our program would not be as effective without him. - Diana Eisenhour, 7th Grade Biology Teacher, North Hartford Middle School, Hartford County, Maryland. ******************************************************************************************************************************* As an elementary teacher and former principal, I know how valuable Mr. Furrer's presentations are to our science program. Our students love his hands-on, informative presentations. He makes science fun and exciting. Our students ask for him to return every year! - Anna Bickford, Lead Teacher, Spring Grove Learning Center, Spring Grove, PA ****************************************************************************************************************************** Dear Bob, We loved your animal show! Thank you for coming to Spencer's birthday party! What a wonderful time we had! We hope we can see you again. We have told lots of friends about you! Love, Jill R. ******************************************************************************************************************************** Dear Mr. Furrer, Thank you so much for coming to visit our Nature Study on June 1st. Your station was so much fun! I LOVED holding the animals - the tarantulas, birds, snakes and turtles. I liked learning about the animals. You held my attention the whole time (and that's hard)!! I love your animals. Thanks, Abby (middle school student) ******************************************************************************************************************************* Dear Mr. Furrer, Thank you for giving us your time to teach us about your animals. I was very afraid of snakes, but now I'm not as scared. I loved being able to hold and handle your animals and also having Velcro on my arm for a picture. The alligator was so amazing as well, and it startled me at first because it hissed when you first pulled it out. Thanks again for coming and giving us information about your animals. Sincerely, Jenn (sixth grade student) ***************************************************************************************************************************** Dear Bob The Critter Man, What's Up? I really liked your presentation with all of those little critters. I learned many things about snakes and turtles. Snakes with skinny heads are nonpoisonous, except the coral snake, which is poisonous, and that snakes with thick heads are poisonous. Also, some turtles have certain adaptations that give them advantages. My favorite part was holding the corn snake. So, I really had fun at your exhibit and I want to see all your animals again or get my own. Sincerely, Matt (seventh grade student) ***************************************************************************************************************************** Dear Bob, Thanks so much for coming to our Cub Scout Pack Meeting. We had a blast meeting your pets. The animals were so much fun and it was great being able to hold and touch them. We have a new respect for snakes and lizards! Bear Den 1, Pack 83 ****************************************************************************************************************************** Dear Mr. Furrer, I liked being able to hold all the snakes. Many people think snakes are evil, ugly monsters, but once you really think about it, you realize how cute they actually are! I also enjoyed seeing the tarantula. I thought they were extremely dangerous and you shouldn't even go near them. Then after going to your station, I'm not afraid of them (though I still won't touch them!) I learned a lot of stuff, like how alligators' mouths are like traps and they won't bite down unless they feel something on their teeth. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have some of the knowledge I have now. Thanks, Melinda ****************************************************************************************************************************** Dear Mr. Furrer (Coolest Guy Ever), Thank you for teaching me the differences between a poisonous and nonpoisonous snake. I also want to thank you for letting me hold Peanut. I learned that when birds, like Peanut, put their beaks out, it's not to bite, but to get their balance. I hope you teach someone else as much as you taught me! Sincerely, Stephanie (The girl who asked all the questions) |
